This public art piece is erected on an exterior wall of the First Ontario Performing Arts Centre in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. The artist, Lily Otasevic, used large-sized Wampum belt beads to depict a curtain. The inspiration is drawn from the historical presence of Indigenous peoples on the site and, in particular, from the Two Row Wampum belt (a treaty between the Haudenosaunee and Europeans). - paraphrased from Lily Otasevic's backgrounder to this art piece.
