'The Dutch Vault' in Houten, province of Utrecht, houses the Royal Dutch Mint. The impressive gold-coloured building with state-of-the-art security systems is a striking appearance. The entire building is enclosed by water and can rightly be called a safe. The gold-coloured facets on the outer facade are inspired by the faceted portrait of King Willem-Alexander on the Dutch euro coins, after a design by Erwin Olaf.
