Little did I know before this contest… things that I had forgotten to remember… like when my father knelt down to teach me the ways of the world, lost inside myself under that curly brown hair. Two years older, my sister with the golden curls has no trouble taking in the experience in that moment. Makes me wonder what else I don’t remember of times that I wish were ‘now’ instead of ‘then.’
