I was tending to my garden in Wescosville, Pennsylvania. USATime
This photo was taken mid-afternoon with the lighting behind the subject. I waited patiently for the bees to cooperate. It was easy to envision a smiley face because sunflowers are so cheery and bright, oozing good vibes.Lighting
Bright daylight isn't usually a good idea behind the subject but up close enough, at the right angle, it works.Equipment
This was a quick snap with my Canon Sureshot. No tripod, no flash.Inspiration
I was tending to my garden in my backyard. I had a long row of giant sunflowers. The bees were just loving the sunflowers so I grabbed my camera and got real close and waited. The bees didn't seem to mind me in their faces (get it?) and they were so cooperative. Bright and cheery reminds me of smiley faces, just so happens to look surprised.Editing
I generally keep my post-processing to a minimum in Photoshop. I like to keep photos as close to unaltered as possible. In my camera bag

Be patient and quick to snap. Good luck
