This photo I was so lucky to capture at Vollen near Oslo our Capital in Norway, in the very exact timeslice a rare splashing wave shot upwards into my composition of Norway’s proudest classic sailship by name Statsraad Lehmkuhl.Time
It was a slightly sunny and clear late summer day early in the midst of the day this year 2021, where tiny waves occasionally broke towards this rocky beach at Vollen in the Oslofjord.Lighting
As I used my iPhone 11 Pro Max I concentrated all my attention on the composition plus on catching the nicest situation of a framing wave, and I held my iPhone just a few inches above the beachhead rocky surface only one meter from the oncoming seawater breaking. So a lot of lighting from both the seasurface and from the sky characterizes this moment.Equipment
Handheld fixation only with iPhone 11 Pro Max using the standard Camera on this.Inspiration
The TV channel NRK1 in Norway run every day during summer 2021 a livestreamed high-tech orchestrated Minute-By-Minute TV airing named «Sommerskuta» (SummerShip), covering the entirety of the Norway’s quite spectacular coastline spanning Barentshavet Atlantic Ocean North Sea Oslofjord Skagerak. A feeling of Eternity and Old Times is captured in my photo here.Editing
I only postprocessed my photo in the app ProCamera with only utilizing the sharpen filter to enhance the clarity of the wave droplets better so the ship’s importance to watery storytelling is highlighted !In my camera bag
So far I’m only relying on my newest iPhone 12 Pro in my photographic performance, where I postprocess some photos with the app Depth or the app ProCamera or the app PSCamera. This way I get the most out of my focusing and composing in the results.Feedback
Keep the camera lens positioned very low towards both ground and wave movement direction while ensuring the object of interest very likely will present itself nicely in the centre of the dual focal point.
