Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was captured at Parque das Aves in Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná, Brazil. It is a place with a lot of vegetation where several birds are completely free and so we can interact with them. I had the opportunity for some to climb on me! It was amazing!

Time

It was at 1:13 pm. The birds start to collect relatively early so we were advised by the park staff to take advantage of this time to take the photos. And there, because everything is very interesting, the feeling is that time passes quickly to see and photograph everything we want.

Lighting

The day was cloudy and certain areas of the park are somewhat dark because there are many trees. The original photo was a little dark but I tried to lighten it by post production.

Equipment

Canon Power Shot SX50 HS F/5.6 1/20s 126.64mm ISO 800

Inspiration

The beauty of this bird. His strong yellow tone, the vegetation around him and the pose he made with his head to the side, making the photo more interesting.

Editing

I don't remember exactly everything I did but I certainly increased the clarity, a little bit of black and white to give more contrast and also a little bit more vibrating color.

In my camera bag

I'm a novice photographer and I only take the camera mentioned above, which was used to capture this photo.

Feedback

In bird photography, patience is needed to wait for the exact moment to capture and, at the same time, be quick, so that the ideal scene is not lost.
