Location
This photo is from Anza in Southern California on the mountain range between Palm Springs and Temecula. This area is at a higher elevation of 4300 ft above sea level.Time
It had rained the night before which is unusual as it doesnt rain often in Southern California. I work part time at a private vineyard. I got to work around 7 am and had to erradicate weeds that were starting to grow in areas around the vineyard. There were tons of this tiny flowers on the weeds that were growing. They were beautiful even though they turn into nasty weeds that then choke out any good plants that you are wanting to keepLighting
I adjust my lighting so it meets my mood for the day. I loved the look of the tiny flowers, and and wanted to be able to see the water droplets and slight shadows from the water, so I kept adjusting my lighting until the photo just felt rightEquipment
I used an old Olympus Pen EPLII with a Zuiko 14-42 mm micro lensInspiration
I keep my camera close by to take pictures of whatever inspires me for the moment or makes me smile. I have a tendancy to notice beauty in all sorts of things that others might miss, so I attempt to photograph these things so I can look back on themEditing
I dont do a lot of post processing as I have not had the money to buy programs to be able to do that. I try to adjust my camera to get the photo and the look I want straight from the cameraIn my camera bag
I use an old Olympus Pen EPLII with a M. Zuiko 40-140 mm micro lens that I use as my go to lens. I also have a Zuiko 14-42 mm micro lens for this old camera with an electronic lens adaptor as the original lens that came with the camer only worked half way when you extended the lens outFeedback
Go with what your heart tells you. You might have to take the photo a few times, adjusting it as you go. This will give you a great photo that isnt overly processed. If you do have to process, it wont take much to get a picture that will make your heart sing
