Here is my only Grandchild at a few minutes old! So wide awake. I am sure he didn't want to miss anything!

Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken here in Toronto, this is my Grandson who was minutes old in the photo. He is looking at his Mommy as if to say finally I can put a face to a voice. He stayed alert for almost 2 hours after his birth!

Time

He was born at 1:16 am

Lighting

No special lighting was used. I took the photo with my Nikon D7500 and just used the light in the room. We were in a birthing room, His Daddy, & other Grandmother and my DIL's best friend were in the room.

Equipment

I used my Nikon D7500 and the kit lens the 18-55 mm lens.

Inspiration

I was taking photos not of the actual birth but right after he was born the nurse cleaned him up, measured him, weighted him then passed him back to Mom then I took this photo.

Editing

I did nothing to this photo. It was right out of the camera.

In my camera bag

I usually have my camera , my Nikon D7500, 3 lenses 18-55, 40mm my true macro, & my Sigma 70-300mm telephoto lens

Feedback

Have a steady hand, as this was handheld, position yourself so there isn't red eye. Use your viewfinder to check if your subject is in focus. And take many shots not just one.
