I normally shoot landscapes and not people. Recently, however, I had opportunity to work with historical reenactment model Henry B. Crawford on location at Lubbock's National Ranching Heritage Center. The session allowed me opportunity to merge landscape photography and history, with a bit of portrait work. Henry's face looks to be savoring the close of good day on the watch with his vintage buffalo rifle resting across his shoulders. I titled this image "The Guardian."
