Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken after a rainy day, at one of the most important avenues in Lisbon. Despite being surround by old and new architecture, the nature in the moment said that I had to enjoy it through the make-shift mirror glass. Just love the days after raining. It's photo gold!

Time

After walking around for a while and taking some other photos, I had to take this one, in the middle of the afternoon. The puddle was nothing like you could use, with leafs and some city dirt but a breeze blew away some of it aside. *click*

Lighting

The best thing about this days lighting is that it was a cloudy day. Lisbon in the summer can be unforgiving for the camera without filters but the daylight was just about perfect.

Equipment

Actually, sorry about what I'm about to say but, this one was a test photo. No Canon or tripod on this one. Just the Moment, the nature... no second chances.

Inspiration

Actually, I've been trying to do one similar for a long time but I've never had the chance either because of work or because I didn't had the camera with me on the perfect scene. I couldn't waste this opportunity.

Editing

Yes, absolutely. Added some temperature and contrast, mainly. Just some touch to add ambience.

In my camera bag

Prominently, a Canon 1100D with a 18-55mm lens. Then, my trusty Samsung Galaxy A21S, with which I take my test photos, just like this one.

Feedback

Just let the Moment and your expertise lead the way. Don't try to impose yourself some over-the-top, lyrical, Pulitzer-prize shot. Just go along the way and make each shot your own. Make every scene your own. Results may eventually come to you.
