Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken along the foreshore at Christies Beach in South Australia.

Time

I decided to take a walk along the foreshore to clear my head and get some fresh air. It was such a beautiful day and listening to the waves crashing below me was really relaxing! This photo was taken on June 16th 2021 at 15:39

Lighting

I wanted to showcase the deep contrast between the cliffs and the blue sky, so I made sure to wait for some of the clouds to pass.

Equipment

Because it was an impromptu walk, I only used my phone to take photos (Samsung Galaxy S10+)

Inspiration

I loved the contrast, it was striking and immediately caught my eye! The texture of the red cliffs against the smooth blue sky was incredible

Editing

The only post-processing for the photo was to increase the saturation of the colours to match the reality of the landscape. The automatic settings on my phone had drained the colours a bit.

In my camera bag

I don't pack much for my photography day trips. Usually, I use my phone if I need a really lightweight option. Otherwise, I use my Nikon D3400 and pack extra batteries and my telescopic lens in case I need it.

Feedback

Mostly just to keep your eyes open for opportunities to capture the beauty of nature. I like to look for contrast and little details that capture my imagination
