Behind The Lens

Location

It was taken in my friends garden, Kent UK.

Time

The picture was taken in the early afternoon. I was sitting in a garden chair about 8 feet away.

Lighting

Just used the natural light. The sun was behind me.

Equipment

Canon 4000D with 75-300mm lens with a UV filter attached.

Inspiration

The challenge was to get a picture with his wings open. Although he likes to pose for the camera it is difficult to get a picture of him with his wings open.

Editing

Just used lightroom to auto-correct.

In my camera bag

I have two Cameras. the Canon 4000D which I bought new and that came with an 18-55mm lens. The Second camera is a Canon 5D which I bought on ebay. Most of the lenses I have are secondhand. Some of them are M42 mount which I have an adapter for. This is a great way to buy lenses if you haven't got much money. My main Ienses are my 75-300mm & 50mm along with 35mm & 135mm. I have sets of ND filters. My flashes are Neewer NW565EX for the 4000D and two Godox TT600 with a Godox Pro X Controller to use off camera.

Feedback

The one thing to remember when taking pictures of animals is to have the continuous mode on and put the autofocus on servo. You will have to move around your subject to find your angle and get the light right.
