In my previous home, one night I was relaxing on my chair during study leaving the table lamp lit. My book was kept open in front of me. I had a vase on my table and my mother used to decorate it with roses. This rose on my vase drew my attention at that time. I picked up my Samsung Galaxy ace and took the snap. The result is beyond my expectation.

This was taken 2 years back. On my table there was a vase and my mom used to decorate it with fresh flowers like rose, jasmine or something else. One of them was lucky.Time
I study a little bit late at night. After having my dinner I relaxed on my chair before the table. At that very moment this rose drew my attraction. I picked my Android mobile phone up and took a snap. It was around a quarter past 10 at night.Lighting
Nothing but one table lamp with a 9 W pl bulb did the magic. Subject was 6-7 inches away from the lamp. The room was dark.Equipment
This shot was taken by Samsung Galaxy ace (S5830) handset. Settings: auto. Exif data: Camera: GT-S5830 Aperture: f/2.6 ISO: 100 Exposure: 1/25. No filter, no tripod, no reflector, no flash.Inspiration
I was about to start my late night study session. Having finished my dinner I was relaxing a little. The room was dark. Table lamp was just behind the book. On my left hand side the vase was holding 3-4 rose sticks with their leaves. This one was shorter than the others and was well lit just below the table lamp. It grew a nice contrast amidst the scattered books, papers, pencils on the table.Editing
I don't like to retouch the photographs unless absolutely necessary. I cropped it about 60% to keep out the outer ambience. In my camera bag
I am no serious photographer neither professional one. I usually end up carrying Nikon d5300 with Tamaron 18-200mm lens and for back up one point n shoot Kodak easyshare c143 if I travel.Feedback
As a review of this shot I would like to say that the bright light and excellent macro capability did the trick here along with good cropping. I am not going to the details settings; rather I would say about selection of the proper subject. Beauty is everywhere around us, say, a pattern on a cloth, very core of a dump of papers, grass on the ground etc. just waiting to be picked up. Pick the beauty, isolate the pleasant portion from the unwanted aweful. Crop out the unnecessary details at the time of framing it or as a post process. Your snap will flourish.
