Horton Tower is a classic example of an 18th century folly and was rumored to once be the tallest non-religious building in Britain

It was built in 1750 by Dorset’s then MP Humphrey Sturt. It’s a 5 storey Gothic red brick structure probably built as an observatory

It has fallen into disrepair over the years and inside, all the floors have fallen away leaving the impressive exterior as more or less just a shell
