Location
This photo is taken at a Cherry Blossom Field in Folsom, California. I get to know about this field from one of my friends who did her family photos here. Awesome place and must visit again.Time
We were scouting spots at this location as the majority of the area looks the same, only with thicker flowers in some places. We had to wait for the sun to get down a little and I want to get the shot at golden hours. So finally I was able to take this photo on 6th March 2021, Saturday at 5:42 PM just after the sunset.Lighting
The lightning was a little tricky as it was taken just after the sunset. Since there are rows of trees everywhere, so it got dark very quickly. But there was some light through the branches and I was able to manage to get this beautiful picture.Equipment
This was shot on Canon EOS R5 with a 50mm F1.2 lens. No other external light was used.Inspiration
I always dreamt of taking pictures in a cherry blossom field. I live in the city so the visiting countryside is about 3-4hrs drive from my place. After lots of discussions and going to and forth, I finally decided to visit this location. I took my pregnant friend there and finally was able to capture some beautiful memories of their parenthood journey.Editing
Yes, usually I keep minimal editing of my pictures, but this one needed some dreamy effect as the place was like that, so I did add some blurring effect in the post-processing and did skin retouch and along with some changes in white balance. And finally, I add a painterly effect to the grass and the trees for creating the final touch of the canvas effect. In my camera bag
I am a prime lens lover. I don't carry too much stuff in my bag. I keep it simple and light. The important thing that I always keep in my bag is a good prime lens which is a 50mm F1.2 lens. I love this lens because it helps in capturing the majority of my picture without the hassle of changing much. Along with my Sony AR7III, I keep a 135mm GM F1.8 lens and a 35mm GM F1.4 lens. All these are my favourite lens which never fails to create a clear, crisp and amazing picture for me.Feedback
This picture is pretty easy in capturing, I would just advise watching your light because sunsets can be tricky, as light changes very quickly. If the camera setting has not been fixed properly then the pictures will be underexposed too much and end up having grains. So just watch there and if you are shooting in RAW which I would recommend everyone to do so, post-processing will be piece of cake. So happy shooting and keep creating!!
