Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on one of my trips to Buenos Aires. I'm inside the Benito Quinquela Martin museum, in La Boca.

Time

It was around 4 pm.. I was walking through the museum and I saw that window in one of the rooms with that gorgeous view of the river, and I thought it was the perfect moment to take a picture. This was taken on June 15, 2019 at 04:07 pm.

Lighting

I took advantaged of the low light in the room so the window could look like a frame. And I think that's what it made the landscape to stand out.

Equipment

This was shot on a nikon d5200, with an 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. No other equipment was involved.

Inspiration

Like I said, I was walking through the museum and saw that window in one of the rooms with a beautiful view of the river, really colorful and thought it was the perfect moment to take a picture. I got so lucky that bird was passing by and made the scene even more beautiful.

Editing

Usually when you do landscapes it requires processing. I tried to use the minimal this time, only adjusting the contrast a little bit and using the selective color for the color walls near the river.

In my camera bag

I'm a person with limited incomes, so for me it's difficult to buy new lenses or cameras. I always use my nikon d5200 with 18-55mm 3.5-5.6 lens. I know it's the most common type of equipment, but it always works for me, and I enjoy the sometimes challenge of taken a good photo with this one.

Feedback

For me is BE IN THE MOMENT. Perception, always looking. Of course lighting is essential and always depends the time of the day. But when you find that spot, be patient and have fun.
