Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on one of the off beaten trails in the Eau Galle recreation area in Spring Valley, WI, not far from Wisconsin's largest earthen dam.

Time

As the sun started setting over my little town, I suddenly got the urge to go and explore one early spring evening, around 7pm hoping to catch sight of the first morels of the season. Instead I caught this gorgeous moment of the sun peeking through the trees.

Lighting

Nature has the best lightning if you can catch it right. Golden hour is my favorite.

Equipment

I used my LG Stylo 5 cell phone for this picture. You don't always need the best equipment to capture a great shot, although it sure helps sometimes.

Inspiration

The inspiration came from the way the light started peeking through the trees, I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to capture and share it.

Editing

I used the very basic photo editing software that came with my phone. Just did some slight tweaking, nature was the real artist here.

In my camera bag

Just my phone and a bag to collect any cool rocks I find along the way.

Feedback

Just get out there and take the pictures. There is beauty in everything if you know where to look.
