Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken here in Billings Montana at a local park. The photo is of my oldest son and his girlfriend. This was for her senior prom last April.

Time

I did this photo shoot in late afternoon (because a girl has to have time to get ready and look good). The cute couple needed this done around 5:30 pm, to have time to go to dinner and then to prom.

Lighting

The only light used was of gods natural light. It was kind of a gloomy day but the sun would peek out at the right time to grace us.

Equipment

I used my Canon EOS Rebel T6 camera, with my 18-55 mm lens that also had the high definition lens with a UV filter lens.

Inspiration

I wanted to reinvent that boring, tired, old prom photo (old school people will know what I am talking about). I wanted something fresh and new, but something that would capture that young love vibe that would take us down memory lane.

Editing

I did use some post-processing on this photo. She wanted that tropic glow since it was spring time. Of course I wanted to help with that teenage acne and give the couple that velvety smooth skin.

In my camera bag

Always have fresh charged batteries and a clean memory card. My camera and I always have my 18-55 mm lens and my 75-300 mm lens. Always have your flash because, you just never know if you will need it. I always have lens cleaner and a lens cloth in my bag and my tripod.

Feedback

All I can say is, just have fun with it. If you are uncomfortable, then so are they. Just remember the only shot missed, is the shot not taken.
