Behind The Lens

Location

After a trip into the Victorian high country to visit another iconic site, we headed back down the mountain to have lunch at a nice little picnic area with this running stream. The point of interest was the water running between the rocks.

Time

This was taken just after a picnic lunch around 1.15p.m on the 24 April 2021. It was also a very cool cloudy day

Lighting

Natural light under cover of a cloudy day and overhead tree cover, ISO set at 100, aperture f20 and a focal length of 35mm

Equipment

Canon EOS 450D camera Canon EF 35-105mm, f3.5-4.5 lens Manfrotto 290 tripod with a 3 way head and a cable remote

Inspiration

The movement of the water between the rocks and trying to capture the moment to help improve my skills for timed shots

Editing

A little........dehazed a small amount, increased the Saturation and Vibrance to +10, then cropped to suit what I was after.

In my camera bag

Canon EOS 450D 18-55 ef and a 35-105 ef-s lens I have added a Sigma 150-600 lens and a Manfrotto 290 tripod with a 3 way head. Also an old Mecablitz flash

Feedback

Surprise yourself, try something new and have fun, practice, practice, it all helps to learn new skills via trial and error. As I am my own worst critic but I still enjoy the art and the many different types of places I get to see and photograph.
