Bees and cactus blooms are just a few of my favorite things!

I spent a day with this roadrunner at the River and it was magical.

The neighborhood is literally a buzz at each bloom.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on South Mountain in Phoenix, Arizona. I love when I round the bend in the trail to this cactus, it’s always a surprise to who will be hanging out, or in.

Time

It was as if he was waiting to say farewell as I departed the trail mid morning.

Lighting

It’s almost always sunny in Arizona, natural sunlight is always my go to.

Equipment

Sony a6100 is all the equipment used.

Inspiration

I make it a stop on each hike, I never know who will be peeking back at me.

Editing

My main goal each time is to not need edits outside of a crop, I seek the natural light to show detail and beauty.

In my camera bag

I carry my Sony a6100 in my bag, a few spare batteries and water here in the desert.
