Location
The photograph was taken on a small island in the Breidafjordur bay in Iceland.Time
It was in the morning hours I went to the shipwreck. I had noticed the location the day before so i knew where to go. The weather was great like it tends to be in the morning hours and it was absolutely wind still.Lighting
The light was difficult this morning, so I had to try different settings, till I was satisfied with the result. There was just this angle of the shipwreck which was exciting. With the right settings and the reflection in the water and a low island framing in the horizon I knew I had captured something uniq.Equipment
The photograph was taken on my Fujifilm XT-1 camera with the 18-55 2.8 lense. There was no tripod used, and there were no filters on the lens.Inspiration
I had been photographing landscape like I usually do on my journeys. Noticing the shipwreck made me think it would be a great addition to the landscape photography.Editing
I did run the photograph through my Lightroom program where I did some minor correction because of the sharp light. Like usually I did not have to do anything with colors. The Fuji camera is producing some bright and sharp colors so not nescessary. In my camera bag
My camera bag is kept simple and light weight so I can hike long distances if I need. I have with me a Fujifilm XT-1 and a spare battery. Fuji 10-24mm 4.0 zoom lense. Fuji 18-55mm 2.8 lense. I only use UV filters and bring them with me. I make sure I have a soft cloth to wipe off the lense and I allways bring raincoat for the camera because I love photographing in rain and sometimes snow even. I travel with a Manfrotto tripod with a ballhead. Very simple and it works.Feedback
Be prepared for any weather and that means any kind of light. Study the subject carefully from all possible angels. Wait for the right moment, wait for incoming clouds that change the light and so on. Try different settings because you can allways use more time at home later to check out the different settings.
