Behind The Lens
Location
In my mother-in-laws house in front of a bay window.Time
it was night, sometime after 8pm in April or March 2020Lighting
I used available lighting in the house, and a floor lamp about 2 feet from my face right next to my camera to create a soft warm glow.Equipment
Canon 5d Mark III, lens 100mm Macro, Tripod, Capture One live view.Inspiration
The window and the reflections of the stoplight across the street.Editing
I used photoshop to touchup my skin and the wood of the window frame using the frequency separation. I also used the clone stamp and the spot healing tools. In my camera bag
My equipment varies, some sort of Canon 5d mark 3-5. Sometimes I have a film camera with me. I prefer a 50 mm - 100mm lens. I keep a tripod close by and a reflector or white bounce.Feedback
Play around with lights available. You don't always have to have the best equipment especially tons of lights and bells and whistles. Look around your environment and let it inspire you. Use yourself as a model even if it is just for test shots, that way if you want to use someone else you know how to direct them.
