Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at Lundbreck Falls in Alberta, Canada. I was actually taking pictures of the falls, and looking behind them saw this old "boy" parked out in a field. Knew it would be a great shot despite being so far away and no access to the land. Brought the image in a close as I could and then cropped it during processing to deliver the final result.

Time

It was early afternoon with a bright, flat light, which is not my favourite, but you make the best of what nature gives you in the moment.

Lighting

Equipment

New (at that time) Pentax K-50

Inspiration

I like photos that tell a story, and in my mind, this tells the story of being old and put out to pasture, or cherished and kept for old times' sake.

Editing

Not very much. Maybe some cropping, or a little colour or light enhancement to render the scene the way I remember it

In my camera bag

A couple of cameras, tripod, flash, extra batteries.

Feedback

Just keep your eyes and mind open. It is easy to look, but not see.
