It was taken in mid-afternoon while I was running errands.

Lighting

No additional lighting was needed. I had enough of the afternoon sunlight.

Equipment

I used my iPhone XS Max. The camera on this phone takes better quality pictures than my old digital camera.

Inspiration

I have always loved flowers, nature and animals. It began as a child. My Grandmother had a small flower garden in Park Slope, Brooklyn, NY.

Editing

The orange tones of the marigold were beautiful. I made minor tone enhancements using a photo editor.

In my camera bag

I don’t carry any equipment other than my phone.

Feedback

The marigold was in a planter full of late summer/early fall flowers outside of a local business. I focused on this because the bloom was taller and facing the sun. Use your eye to find the most striking features of your subject.
