Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken from a craft house I rented located at 803 S 2nd Ave in Walla Walla, WA 99362. The house is over 100 years old and was very drafty but the wood floors were beautiful as well as the basement had several nice cozy spaces. The photo area was taken in the yard where a shrub grows.

Time

This was an overcast day around noon in September 2020.

Lighting

The lighting is all natural diffused from cloud cover on that day.

Equipment

I used a NIKON, and a built in camera on my Galaxy S-Plus to take a series of these photos.

Inspiration

It was deep in the middle of Covid-19 and I was really feeling the need to connect to my martial brain, the shrub after a haircut with a chainsaw, became a Bonsai.

Editing

No post processing, just raw shoots other then I did strip the bark off the small branch, attempting to create the feeling of the Bonsai, and their delicate dwarflike nature. I cut as deep as possible on the main stem to the trunk, not severing it totally but assuring it would die once summer arrived; the nutrients would not flow adequately.

In my camera bag

I have my Nikon but the pixel depth is lacking and I really need to update to a good digital camera with higher pixel resolution. The cameras on my phone are hard to beat in the pixel and convenience categories.

Feedback

Enter your martial mind with a few good blood cleanse Qigong exercises and then start shooting, for every one shot take a hundred and you might have at least one shot worth keeping.
