Location
The picture was taken next to Neris river, in Vilnius (Lithuania) during the last part of a long run.Time
Picture was taken 30 minutes before sunset, it was around 5pm.Lighting
Due to the fact that it was a clear day, sunset plus the cold, the resulting colours were mesmerising. It was specially beautiful the light pillar effect produced by the sun light and the cold temperature (around -18 degrees celsius). It was a real challenge first to take out the phone from my frozen closed and second to unlock it and launch the camera app, since the phone screen was also frozen.Equipment
Huawei P20 Pro smartphone. This is the camera I carry when I go out for a run, since taking my normal camera would be a bit uncomfortable.Inspiration
The fact that I love taking pictures of unusual effects or situations. This was definitely one of those situations, as explained before, the light pillars are produced only when you have a source of light plus a very cold temperature.Editing
Basic post-processing was done to make the colours pop and to reduce the luminance noise. Only Highlights, Shadows, Whites and Blacks were adjusted and a bit of noise reduction applied. In my camera bag
When running, the Huawei P20 Pro and, when going out for a walk / photo shoot, my Canon M100 with the following lenses: 1 - Neewer M Diameter: 46mm Focal lenght: 25mm Focus: manual Apperture: 1.8 - 16 2 - Canon EF-M Diameter: 49mm Focal lenght: 15-45mm Focus: auto Apperture: 3.5 - 6.3 This year I will do astrophotography more often so I will also take my Skywatcher GTi Goto star tracker and my Skywatcher Evostar 72ED, with tripod of course.Feedback
