I wanted the image to catch the dim lighting but also catch the glorious colors of this sunset.Equipment
I used my phone! It was just a $50 smart phone I had bought from Walmart. I've upgraded to a better phone and an actual camera since then of course. Although it does go to show everyone that you don't need the most high tech and expensive equipment to take some marvelous photography!Inspiration

I now carry a bag that holds a battery charger with extra batteries, a collapsible standing tripod, a small tabletop tripod, a cleaning kit, a little Samsung digital smart camera that I've been teaching my 8 year old how to use (he's doing so well for his age!), and a Fujifilm digital camera that has a neck strap.Feedback
If you have the ability to take a photo of something beautiful, go for it. Doesn't matter if it's an expensive camera setup or just the camera on your phone.. you have the ability to capture greatness!
