Location
This photo was taken in Maggie Valley North Carolina. It had snowed the night before . I had taken it before anyone walked up the stairs.Time
After driving 10 hours, we pulled up to the cabin around 4 PM, it looks that another snow storm was going to hit, it turned out to be a dusting.Lighting
I wanted the cabin to reflect a comforting relaxation type feeling. When I look at it and notice the snow clouds, you can almost imagine yourself unloading the truck and starting a fire inside, sitting in front of it cradling a warm cup of coffee or hot cocoa in your hands.Equipment
Believe it or not I used a iPhone 12 to take the shot. I always carry two cameras with me, I had my Nikon in the truck and grabbed the phone to take the first shot. It is one of those times where you had no time to search for your equipment or set up a tripod ( which I forgot to bring) Spme of my better shots were taken in a spontaneous manner.Inspiration
The cabin just sat there in front of a backdrop of snow clouds looking so peaceful. I wanted to capture that moment.Editing
When I do landscapes I like natural light photos, so this one had no post-processing done. Every time I look at it I see another color in the photo that i did not see the first time.In my camera bag
I carry Nikon 3400, a 50 mm lens, 70-300mm, and a 100-200 mm lens. When I remember a tripod.Feedback
Don't let an oportunity pass you by grab your phone, and take the shot. You never know what you might get.
