Behind The Lens

Location

This is a photograph of a creek in Caledon, Ontario.

Time

I took this photograph in September 2020 around 6:47 A.M. I was lucky to be at the spot when the sun was rising. The bright Blue sky complemented the colourful foliage. The still water provided a clear reflection. The colourful wild flowers gave it a look of an enchanted garden. I put my camera on tripod and captured the moment.

Lighting

The light source in this photo in natural. As it was shot just before sunrise, the soft indirect sunlight was perfect for the shot.

Equipment

This Photo was shot on a NIKON Z 6 using a NIKKOR Z Lens- 24-70mm, Shutter speed - 1/4, Aperture-f/22 and ISO-100. It was shot in natural light, balanced on a Tripod.

Inspiration

I had crossed this spot a couple of times during my early morning walks. The vibrance of this creek always drew me and made me stop and sock up the atmosphere. During Autumn as the leaves change colour, it turned into an enchanted beauty. I couldn't help but come back with my camera to preserve this beauty in a photograph.

Editing

I worked with the raw Images and increased the vibrance a little to give the image a brighter feel.

In my camera bag

I have been a Nikon user since film camera days. Currently I have a Nikon Z6 and a a NIKKOR Z Lens- 24-70mm. It has been my gear for sometime now and I find it really fun to work with.

Feedback

As a landscape photographer, I feel natural light can do wonders if used appropriately. The trick I often use is taking my photographs either at dawn or dusk. It renders the photograph a soft look as also leaves lot of scope for post processing work.
