Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken above the beach in amble capturing the nerve like patterns created by the retreating water.

Time

This photo was taken late afternoon before the winter sun began to set. It’s important when shooting aerial photography where the light is as too bright light can cause a few problems with the drones.

Lighting

The lighting was natural light on a clear and sunny day that gave sharp lines and a clear image from above.

Equipment

I used the DJI Mavic Zoom 2 drone.

Inspiration

I love aerial shots especially that capture the abstract features of nature .

Editing

The photo was loaded on to Lightroom and very minor edits were needed. Primarily the contrast was upped and blacks to highlight the patterns created on the beach.

In my camera bag

My bag is full of goodies and different options depending on what I find when wandering around. First thing is always the DJI Mavic 2 Zoom and the Fujifilm x100F. I also own a Nikon D90 and an assortment of lenses that are due to be upgraded soon. There is also a 35mm canon film camera, because sometimes shooting film is fun!

Feedback

Be patient, really observe the light and make sure it’s not too windy!
