Sitting on a clifftop in the last afternoon light at Fishing Cove near Gunwalloe are the remains of what was one a thriving fishing industry.
A pilchard industry was already established at Fishing Cove in the early 19th Century and likely dates from at least the previous century. Winches along the cliff edge were used to help bring boats up the beach to get them clear of tides and storms.
