Behind The Lens

Location

Boat tours are offered multiple times of the day throughout the year on Saguaro Lake, just east of Fountain Hills, AZ. The lake lies within the Tonto National Forest.

Time

This shot was taken at sunset, just as the boat was returning to the dock.

Lighting

I always use a haze filter and a polarizing filter to bring out the deepest color.

Equipment

Canon EOS shot at 75mm f5 and 800 ISO

Inspiration

As you return to the dock, you the sunset reflecting of the red rocks and the water---one of those "must take" pictures.

Editing

I used ON1 processing to bring back the strength of the colors--to try and make it 3D rather than just a flat landscape.

In my camera bag

What I carry today has changed since I took this picture---upgraded camera and filter.

Feedback

Take multiple shots---rapidly because a sunset changes everything very quickly--------you never know which one will be the best.
