Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at the Empress Hotel in Victoria,B.C.

Time

Shot around 6pm after an intimate ceremony.

Lighting

The couple had a beautiful, Christmas wedding with only about 10 guests in attendance. The ceremony was in a intimate room in the Empress, next to a cozy fireplace and Christmas Tree.

Equipment

Canon 5D Mark 2 Canon 35 mm lens 1.4

Inspiration

The veil shot is always a must do. The overhead lighting just happened to work perfect for this ambiance I was hoping to capture.

Editing

Lightroom editing with my own presets and tweaks!

In my camera bag

I always have about 4 lenses in my backpack- my 85mm, 35mm, 50mm and my macro lens. I ALWAYS bring 5 batteries, and 5 memory cards.

Feedback

Instruct the couple to feel the passion and embrace the feelings they are sharing after saying I Do. This makes the shot so personal! Make sure your focus is wide enough to capture both people.
