Location
I live in rural community in Kansas. Hunting of any kind here is a way of life. And watching nature and listening to the " I caught a fish... THIS BIG" and "YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN THE RACK ON THAT THING!" are some of the best fibs and exaggerated stories that you can imagine, from 2 years old and up. Deer season had just begun and my husband and I were just out for a drive right before sunset and only a few miles from home.Time
We left home shortly after 4:00pm to enjoy one of our hobbies, collecting minerals and fossils, not 10 minutes in and this amazing buck to my right stopped in it's tracks and staired back at us. I knew he would not wait there long and no doubt a doe would be right to behind him. I rummaged around as fast as I could and finally found my phone. The battery was very low but managed to take 6-7 pic. As he turned and ran north and jumped the pasture fence he gave me just enough time as he waited for the 2 doe that were behind him.Lighting
The lighting was perfect that day , tons of light due to the sun setting in the west. Otherwise the light would have been to dark and my phone was very low on battery life and does not take pictures with good quality at that point.Equipment
The only equipment I had with me was the motorola g7 supra. Inexpensive phone but I have always been impressed with it's camera.Inspiration
I knew I had to get this one at all cost.... We had not gone prepared to take any photos that evening. So it was totally by accident. Every hunting season has the stories that go something like " the one t at got away" and this deer had been talked about far and wide for a couple of years. We knew it was him by his rack and we were able to give an update locally that he was still around. No news if anyone was able to get a shot at him this year. We hunt for the food mainly here the moto is "you shoot it you eat it" But he will be a nice trophy too!!Editing
Yes I changed it to correct the white balance and shadows to get a more defined profile. Added the vignette because it was going to be sent out for Christmas cards. In my camera bag
Most of the time I have the Moto cell phone but I also have a Cannon camera I take alongFeedback
Not really other than keep an eye out for deer!
