Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Chatfield State Park, south of Denver CO on a cold January morning .

Time

I wanted to get some sunrise pictures over the Chatfield reservoir but the I was not able to get in a good place to frame a shot. SO I wondered around a bit and found this one. I liked the sky and silhouette of the cotton wood tree and the sun just starting to rise out of frame to the right.

Lighting

I think the blue, pre sunrise lighting really helped brought out clouds

Equipment

This was taken with a Canon R6, on a tripod 2.5 Sec at f8

Inspiration

I was out looking for sunrise shots on a really cold January morning, the sky and the silhouette of lone tree captured the cold mood of the morning perfectly

Editing

Vary little for this picture, I dropped the white level a little and that's about it

In my camera bag

For this photo all I had was the R6 and the RF 24-105mm f4 lens

Feedback

This was not picture I had planned to make on this morning, but instead of packing it in and heading home once I realized I would not be able to make the picture I wanted I stayed and found something. So the best advice I have is to stay flexible adapt to what you are give and have fun
