Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in front of our house here in the Philippines, I was just looking for some interesting subjects when I saw this one.

Time

I remember that I was looking for something to capture on the middle of a lazy afternoon when I saw the neighbor's cat nursing her kittens. It was a fun snap and I think I captured the perfect moment.

Lighting

I was just not thinking about the lighting that time, the goal was to capture the cat staring straight at my lens. I am used to use natural light most of the time.

Equipment

This was shot on a Canon550D with 18-55mm kitlens.

Inspiration

Editing

Yes, that time I was on my beginner's day as a photographer but I have these colors on my mind that I want to achieve. I want to emphasize the core subject and the colors of it. I enhanced the blacks and shadows, a little bit contrast and clarity and that's it!

In my camera bag

I always carry my canon550D body because that is the only body I have and on my bag there's Samyang 85mm lens there, a very sharp and powerful gear on my arsenal and I use that most of the time, I also carry a canon 50mm and canon 18-55mm for wide shots.
