📍 Penryn

Here's something a little different from me to break up my coastal stuff...

I was on the way home, driving down Bohelland Rise, when I was presented with a misty view over Penryn. I was seconds from home, so I had to grab my long lens. After shooting a few frames of the town, I turned my attention to the horizon - near the A39.

I was struck by the graphic shapes of these silhouetted trees, and what I imagine is a phone mast (techies please correct me if I'm wrong) - maybe a couple of miles away from where I stood. I also liked the separation as the mist knocked back the more distant forms.

Straight off camera, the colours were a little underwhelming. So I used some artistic licence - and colour graded the crap out of it!

For me, after watching the latest Attenborough documentary on Netflix, this picture tells a story of humans' dominance over nature and our planet. Trees strive to outgrow their neighbours to capture as much sunlight as possible. Yet here, this man made structure dwarfs them all. Watch the documentary - it's an eye opener!
