This photo was taken on the beach of Kaiafas, Peloponnese.Time
I visit this beach often as I like the sunset there as there is never one sunset alike the other. On that particular evening as I was preparing myself to photo yet another magnificent sunset a young lady on a horse made her appearance on the beach. Instinctively even though I did not have a tripod with me I placed my camera on the trunk of a fallen tree and clicked this photo. May 29, 2020 at 19.32!Lighting
The lighting was the natural light of the sun as it sets. There was no need to use artificial lighting as the light from the sun was more than enough.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon 800D & EFS 18-135mm.Inspiration
The beach of Kaiafas is a long sandy beach with sand dunes and a forest just before you reach the waterfront. As chance would have it on that particular day and as I was waiting for the sun to set a young lady on a horse made their way over the sand dune in front of me. The serenity and harmony of this whole image was enough for me to not think twice as I took the photo.Editing
Usually landscape photography requires a lot of processing. In this particular case, I had to develop the raw 2 times (one for the land and another for the sky) to correct the white balance (since the auto option in the camera usually kills the colour of the sunset). Then I processed to merge the 2 raws using luminosity masks.In my camera bag

For landscape photography one needs to be patient. Persistence is another trait of landscape photography. The best time to photograph a landscape is at dawn or even dusk. The chosen landscape needs to be visited several times until the photographer is satisfied with the light and the landscape in that given moment. A photographer should always follow his or her instinct.
