I at first was so entuned to take their photo that as I got back home and looked on my computer. I seen the momma doe had a growth on her face. Yet how the sun hit them including her two babies. It made this picture absolutely amazing.

Behind The Lens

Location

I had taken this on a quaint country road in Central Illinois while I was wandering through the backroads. I have tried over and over to remember exactly what place I had seen these. As, I want to be able to see it again with her babies and take more pics.

Time

It was mid afternoon. I always love to head out when I think there is more of a chance to see deer. They absolutely fascinate me in so many ways. The lighting was absolutely perfect when I was able to capture this trio. I

Lighting

I have to admit, I go by the appeal that the picture I see before me. Sometimes I will change my angle before taking the picture to get the natural light just how I want it. Sometimes the lighting and picture is just there ready to be taken a picture of.

Equipment

I use a Cannon camera and two lenses. I prefer not to use a tripod or flash.

Inspiration

I have had an increase love affair with deer since I seen one the day my daughter had passed and a doe walked right up to me in a field I had ran to cry. Since, that moment.... I have been inspired to take photos of them in all shapes, sizes and forms.

Editing

I like to look at the aesthetics of the picture and try not to change a great deal of it. I did brighten it a bit, and brought a more softness to it.

In my camera bag

Normally there is camera, two lenses, extra cards for camera, battery charger.

Feedback

I believe that you should make your camera an extension of what you see. As well sometimes you won't get a chance to get another picture of an animal or sunset, etc. This is when you take several and go through to find the best one. The one that speaks to you. Makes you want to climb in and be right there.
