Location
This photo was taken on the ice of Lake Baikal in Russia. In the area of the Svyatoi Nos half-post. Although I mainly work with landscape photography, if the occasion arises, I enjoy photographing wildlife.Time
Since it is very dangerous to ride on the ice of Lake Baikal in the dark, most filming in remote places takes place during the day. It is almost always cloudy in March. The clouds act as a filter to soften the bright spring sunlight.Lighting
As I said, clouds soften the sunlight. In this case, the question with the choice of options for lighting the scene was not, since I was forced to work with the lighting that was in the natural version. I was more intuitive.Equipment
This was shot only Canon 60D Sigma 10-20 lens.Inspiration
The main source of inspiration for me is the beauty of the wild nature of Siberia and Lake Baikal. There are still places here where there is no civilization. I always strive to shoot there.Editing
For post-processing, I use Lightroom. In it I do cropping, nonal and color correction. Remove noise if necessary. For quick processing, I use Picasa 3. It's a simple and effective tool. As a rule, I process photographs after expeditions. This allows the material to "lie down" and the emotions to subside. That allows you to more competently process the material. In my camera bag
There are always two cameras in my backpack. One with a wide-angle lens, the other with a long-focus lens. This allows you to be always ready. In addition, there is a set of ND and gradient filters, a 50mm lens for portrait photography, two tripods. And every little thing for the repair and cleaning of cameras. I never forget a complete set of spare batteries. In winter, there is nothing to do in Siberia without them.Feedback
I don't like to give any advice. This is a feature of my Siberian character. The main thing is to love taking pictures. If you love this business, then your skill will grow, you will be able to serve the viewer with new and exciting photographs.
