Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken on a Sunday stroll in the historic center of Montpellier, southern France.

Time

It was on an afternoon Sunday walk in the maze of the small narrow streets that fill the old neighborhood Ecusson.

Lighting

On this one nothing in particular.

Equipment

My then newly acquired Sony A7iii with 35mm f/1.8 lens. No other equipment.

Inspiration

The historic center of Montpellier is an inspiration by itself. I often just wander around without a plan and just expecting the moment when something catches my eye.

Editing

Nothing serious on this one. I shot it as a color image, as I usually do, and converted it to black and white. Then just some basic adjustments: contrast, highlights, shadows...

In my camera bag

When I'm wandering around the city I usually have my Sony A7 iii and the Sony 35mm f/1.8 prime lens. If I have a more concrete idea of what I will I may also take a tripod.

Feedback

Immerse yourself in what surrounds you, have patience, enjoy in what you are doing and the inspiration and the shot will surely come.
