Driving home one early evening from a day out with my wife I saw this white station in a field of tall dry grass.Lighting
The low angle light made the horse stand out from its surroundings.Equipment
This was taken in 2005 when my camera was a Canon 10D, one of the first reasonably decent digital SLRs. I believe the lens was a canon 70-200mm F4 L . As soon as I saw the animal I stopped the car, took the camera with lens already attached out of the boot and went into the field shooting hand held. I captured the horse in several different positions and this is one of my favourites.Inspiration
Images are the result of many things, hard work, finding the right subject(s), getting the right angle, preparation but in this case it was just luck being in the right place at the right time.Editing
I have many versions of this image, colour, B&W, low key, different skies etc. This image has an enhanced saturated sky but the rest is as taken. All the post processing was done in Photoshop. In my camera bag
Currently I have 3 camera bodies, 2 canon an R and R5 and also a Sony A6300. Lenses include 14mm Samyang F2.4, Canon EOS 24-70mm F2.8 L Mk2, Canon 16-35mm F2.8 L Mk2, Samyang 85mm F1.2 XP, Canon 100-400mm F4.5-5.6 L Mk2. Also 2 for the Sony body a 16-50mm OSS F3.5-6.3 Power Zoom and a Sigma 60mm F2.8 'A' .Feedback
We have all heard the saying "you have to be in it to win it" well, the same does for photography. Get out as much as you can during early morning sunrise and then again late afternoon to sunset and then you just might get lucky!
