Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in Steiermark, Austria. I was a spontanoues shoot.

Time

This is by far my favourite photo. I already went to sleep, when my mother woke me up around 1 AM and told me how many stars could be seen in the sky. So i quickly put on a jacket, took my camera and tripod and searched for a good location.

Lighting

I love the mystery of our universe and this picture of the milkyway really gives someone these vibes.

Equipment

This was shot on a Nikon Z6 with the Nikkor Z 20mm f/1.8 and a Manfrotto Befree Tripod.

Inspiration

I saw so many milkyway photos on instagram, so it was a dream of mine to take a photo of the nightsky, so when my mum woke me up, i finally had the oppurtunity to fulfill it.

Editing

I used one of my presets and then corrected everything so it would fit this picture, afterwards I put it into Photoshop and cleaned up the image with the spot-healing tool.

In my camera bag

The first thing I put into my bag is my Nikon Z6 with the Nikkor Z 24-70 f/4 and the 70-200 f/2.8 which is an amazing combo for everything. If I know I will shoot in the dark I will also bring my Nikkor Z 20mm f/1.8 and my Manfrotto Befree Tripod. In Addition I will DJI Mavic Air 2 with me.

Feedback

Always are on the look for clear nightskys and dark places with low light pollution. If possible plan the shoot before, but as you can see, it is possible even without planning.
