Behind The Lens

Location

This picture was taken in Quebec City in the Old city. It's truly a beautiful place for architecture and black and white photography.

Time

It was shot at about 2:30 in the afternoon

Lighting

Cloudy days are full of surprises when it comes to black and white. The clouds often decide how the picture is going to turn out.

Equipment

It was shot on a Canon Rebel 5 with an 18-50.

Inspiration

The simple alley and the beautiful buildings inspired a certain vibe that i love. The grey ambiance is something i am looking for in every shot i take black and white

Editing

I usually shoot in color then process it to look good on black and white. I feel like you always have a better result this way.

In my camera bag

I'm really not that equipped. I've been using the same camera and the same lens over 3 years now. It forces you to be creative.

Feedback

Try looking for great ambiance on a single road. Sometimes the same Road has different perspectives so really take your time and walk around. Also, cloudy days can surprise you.
