The west side of Dublin’s Ha’penny footbridge over the River Liffey, with the north side of the city in the background. When the bridge was opened in 1816 a half-penny was charged to cross, until 1919. The Liffey Bridge was built by William Walsh to replace ferries he operated at that spot on the river.
