Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Sidney, Ohio where I grew up.

Time

This was taken early to mid afternoon like around two o’clock. I tried to stand as far back on the corner so I could get both sides of the building with too much glare from the sun.

Lighting

It was a beautiful sunny day. A lot of natural light to take advantage of. I was trying to get the sun shining on the building so you could see the detail of it.

Equipment

This was shot with my Canon EOS 70D using a 18-55mm lens. No tripod was used.

Inspiration

This is a beautiful historical building and it’s in a place where I had grown up. I haven’t seen a structure like this since I’ve moved and wanted to share it.

Editing

I actually didn’t have to do much of post processing in this photo. I just lowered the highlight some to accentuate the clouds more and the building.

In my camera bag

I always carry my two lenses. The 18-55mm f/3.5 and 70-200mm f/2.8 with some filters and a lens ball.
