Thanks for tour comment. Ironically, I wasn’t “looking” for a shot, but as I walked by, it grabbed me and DEMANDED that I go get my camera. Glad you enjoyed it, too.

Behind The Lens

Location

Side of my house. This clematis came with me when I move 3 years earlier and NEVER BLOOMED. On this particular September day I noticed it was in flower, and I loved the interplay of color, texture, shadow, and composition. So I took the shot, and have used it for my screensaver ever since.

Time

Mid-afternoon

Lighting

As I mentioned, the juxtaposition of bright sunshine, sharp shadows, brilliant color, and such a variety of natural and geometric shapes and textures was very attractive to me.

Equipment

My new iPhone 12 Pro Max. Just a few snapshots.

Inspiration

Literally, the shot “grabbed me” as I was walking by, thinking about other things.

Editing

None

In my camera bag

None, unless I’m on a shoot.

Feedback

Simply let your eye drift and scan your surroundings. Mother Nature provides an awesome variety of compelling compositions if we can just pay attention, even if we’re not “looking”.
