Behind The Lens

Location

Taken next to a small pond in Northumberland which I know is frequented by a Kingfisher

Time

Around midday

Lighting

Available light only

Equipment

Hand held Canon 1DmkIV + 500mm f4 lens + 1.4xTC = 700mm

Inspiration

I enjoy bird photography

Editing

Photoshop used to enhance the shadows (the subject was backlit) then dodging and burning to bring out the details.

In my camera bag

For wildlife, Canon 1 series plus 300mm and 500mm primes.

Feedback

Patience, patience, patience. Do your research and find out where the birds are, then set up and wait.
