Behind The Lens

Location

Edgewater Park Cleveland, Ohio USA

Time

Around 5pm when the sun was settling lower in the sky.

Lighting

The lighting for this photo was amazing because the whole day was overcast by dark gray clouds. When I arrived at Edgewater Park, the clouds and began to clear at dusk. The sun had just peeked underneath the clouds to cast a golden light across the city.

Equipment

I use a Nikon D5200 body with a Nikon DX VR AF-P 70-300mm lens. No tripod, just quick shutter speed.

Inspiration

I am constantly inspired by nature. The way our entire planet presents such beautiful wildlife, weather, colors and landscape. To be able to capture a split second of motion so vividly.

Editing

I use several different editing programs to get the right look. Mostly between Photoshop Express and Lightroom as well.

In my camera bag

I have a hand-me-down Nikon D5200. I am still pretty new at all of the camera lingo but I've learned some. I take my Nikon with an extra battery (just in case). My favorite lens that I own is a Nikon DX VR AF-P 70-300mm 1:4.5-6.3G ED. I usually take the 18-55mm with me but I'm hoping that eventually can afford to get new equipment but, as I said, I'm new and am still not sure what would be best. Oh, and I take my adjustable polarized lens as well.

Feedback

Living so close to Lake Erie, there are so many different kinds of birds and other wildlife. You never know what you will find so I like to make sure I have a widely variable lens that can autofocus quickly.
