I took this photo close to the Gyeongbokgung palace in the middle of Seoul in South Korea. something that amazed me about Seoul is that you can find traditional places like this in crowded places which creates a great contrast and provide you scape from the city (inside the city)Time
It was probably between 7 and 7:30 pm. I spend lots of time playing around with the settings of the camera to see how much it can affect the image and learning about aperture and speed. it was a nice shot after work.Lighting
I wanted to capture the beautiful colors in the sky that day. It was a perfect match between orange, blue, and purple. The silhouette of the gate of the palace created a very dramatic shot that made me travel in time.Equipment
This was shot with a Sony Alpha camera with an 18-55 mm lens. No tripod, just my friend's shoulder :)Inspiration
One of the most beautiful things about Korea is how they preserve and care for its history and traditions. so you can find many historical places like this palace in the middle of the city in a very crowded area. I wanted to capture the structure with good light, and by luck that day the sky was on fire.Editing
I manipulated the contrast of the photo and remove one of the traffic lights from it.In my camera bag
I am a beginner, so I just have my camera with me.Feedback
Be patient. I arrived at that place around 5 pm and stay walking in circles trying to capture other things until I see the light I wanted.
